Pete Seeger Songbooks

We currently carry four different collections of Pete Seeger's best-loved compositions and popularized songs. These books encompass the full range of songs performed and recorded by Pete over his 75 year career as a musician and songwriter.

Two new songbooks especially created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Seeger's birth:
If I Had a Hammer: A Pete Seeger Singalong Songbook. 50 songs to remake the planet. Edited by Annie Patterson & Peter Blood. With commentary on many songs by Seeger and a foreword by Harry Belafonte.
Pete Seeger Centennial Songbook, words & music to 43 songs. From TRO-Essex Music. The Richmond Organization is the publisher of Woody Guthrie, Weavers, and many of Pete's songs.

Two classic collections recently re-issued from the Oak Books Archive - a must for the serious Seeger fan!:
Bells of Rhymney and Other Songs & Stories from the Singing of Pete Seeger. 80 songs includes many by Pete, Woody, Malvina.
American Favorite Ballads. 84 songs as sung by Pete including many traditional songs plus favorites by Woody, Leadbelly, the Weavers.


Pete's autobiography includes words & music to over 80 songs from the Seeger songbag: Where Have All the Flowers Gone: A Singalong Memoir Includes extensive commentary by Pete on his work on the song, how other artists have reinterpreted his songs, his relationship with collaborators, etc. This  is unfortunately currently out of print. Pete's daughter Tinya is working hard on trying to bring the book back into print soon.
