Pete's 100th - New Haven

Advance tickets sales are now closed, but there are plenty of tickets at the door for this concert. Doors open at 6:15pm. Come early to get a good seat!

We hope you can join us for this stirring celebration of the life and work of Pete Seeger on the 100th anniversary of his birth!

Songleader/performers. This concert will feature Annie Patterson & Peter Blood (the creators of the songbooks Rise Up Singing and Rise Again) along with Emma's Revolution (Pat Humphries & Sandy O) and Charlie King - all of whom worked closely with Pete during his lifetime.

Singing together. We will be singing out of If I Had a Hammer, a new collection of songs that Pete wrote or was great at performing and leading. We have created this songbook especially to honor the 100th anniversary of Pete Seeger's birth. Copies will be available to borrow or buy at the concert - or you can buy copies now and pick them up when you arrive.

Tickets. Although advance sales are closed tickets are available at the door for a suggested donation of $20-30. ("Be generous! Be affordable!")  No one turned away for lack of funds.

Solidarity. This concert is a benefit for Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services. IRIS provides a variety of services to refugees and immmigrants in Connecticut. The concert will also celebrate and shine a light on the many other groups working in the region for the things Pete and Toshi believed in and worked for. If your organization would like to table during intermission, please contact Paul Hammer.

Diyanet Mosque fire. In addition to raising funds to support Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS), many know that there was a terrible fire at this Mosque last Sunday May 12th which appears to be arson. We will be having a song that emphasizes the importance of all of us standing together against this kind of act of hatred and fear.

We have been in touch with Omer Bajwa (Muslim chaplain at Yale University) who is active in organizing support for the mosque. They have already raised $100,000 to help rebuild the Mosque. If you know of those who would like to contribute here is where donations are being received  https://LaunchGood.com/NewHaven
