The composing trio of Eddie and Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier composed dozens of top Motown hits including 25 #1 Rhythm & Blues hits.
Although all three began as performing artists, the trio soon realized that they preferred writing and producing songs for others to performing them. During their tenure at Motown Records from 1962 to 1967, Dozier and Brian Holland were the composers and producers for each song, and Eddie Holland wrote the lyrics and arranged the vocals. The trio has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
